Letlapeng have won promotion to the Premier League

Debswana First Division side, Letlapeng won promotion to the Premier League on a weekend when the raging top flight title race moved to the last day of the campaign. Letlapeng clinched promotion for the first time after a 1-1 stalemate against Black Forest, which took their season’s tally to 41 points, while Rolling Boys secured a play-off spot.

Forest needed a win to leapfrog Rolling Boys into the promotion play-offs. But they fell agonisingly short as they finished the season with 38 points, the same as Rollings Boys who had a better goal difference. Masitaoka and Mochudi Buffaloes were relegated, while Killer Giants, in ninth place, will keep their fingers crossed that Rolling Boys are successful in the play-offs in order to avoid the chop.

Letlapeng coach, Thaloba ‘Machine’ Nthaga said qualification to the Premier League means a lot to his players.
