Lessons from hosting CUCSA games

The secretary general of Africa Zone VI Confederation of Universities and Colleges of Sports Associations (CUCSA), Dele Akpata has said they have learnt a lot of lessons from the just-ended student games held in Gaborone, Botswana.

He told Mmegi Sport that though the CUCSA games were relatively successful, they hope to improve the next edition after the experience they got this year.

Hosts Botswana finished second behind South Africa in the games. The last time Botswana hosted the event was in 1995. Akpata said since then, many things have changed and the games village, the University of Botswana (UB), has grown, making hosting of the games much easier. He said there were only two protests from football and softball.
