Leal throws 'Mzambiya' a life-line

Contrary to media reports that dormant winger, Phenyo Mongala is on his way out of South African giants Orlando Pirates, the Botswana international has survived the chop.

The dreadlocked player has made the cut after new coach, Julio Leal trimmed the squad from 44 to 32. The Brazilian who replaced Ruud Krol late last month, was forced to trim his squad with five new signings coming in.

The Buccaneers have signed Siyabonga Sangweni, Sameegh Doutie, Rudolf Bester from Namibia, Njabulo Ntusi and Lizo Mjempu. Pirates' spokesperson, Mickey Modisane believes Mongala's survival is a sign that he still has a chance to break into the first 11.
