Kgathi issues stern warning to sports

The Minister of Youth, Sports and Culture, Shaw Kgathi did not mince words on Monday night when he warned sports bodies to put their act together as government moves to control the flow of funds.

Departing from a prepared speech when he officiated at an event to announce Mascom’s P880,000 sponsorship for the Gaborone Africa Youth Games, the minister laid into sports codes which he did not name, saying they need to improve administratively.

He said in the new financial year, which begins in April, funding for various disciplines will be prioritised.
