Karateka�s Dubai trip up in smoke

Lemogang Koolopile will not compete at the World Karate Federation (WKF) Premier League event scheduled for Dubai after the local karate body failed to register the karateka on time.

The athlete wanted to use the event to improve his chances of qualifying for the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games.  Koolopile had to dig deep to raise P37,000 for his flight, accommodation and participation fee, as the trip was self-funded.

He organised a mixed marshal arts festival a fortnight ago, in a bid to raise the funds.  However, he failed to raise enough from the event, but a Good Samaritan came to his rescue.
