Jordan who was in the country yesterday for a private meeting with Botswana Football Association (BFA) president, David Fani, told Mmegi Sport that he will avail his support to the country's football administrators.Jordan who will challenge for the CAF presidency, is vying for a position in the FIFA committee.He said football in the region is yet to realise its full potential despite respective countries showing progress in economic growth.Jordan believes economic progress should translate to success in sports with more resources channelled towards its growth.As Idrove through Gaborone, I saw a lot of changes.
More resources should be channelled towards the growth of football. West African countries still dominate football, so it is imperative that we organise ourselves as a region," Jordan said. He said he was happy with the progress that Botswana has made in football,which is signified by the Zebras' progress in the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers."The Zebras are on the verge of making history and that's commendable. Fani has done well as a leader. What you need is corporate support for football," he said.Jordan, however, believes that there is a lot of work to be done to develop infrastructure.He said Botswana needs to invest in infrastructure.
