Internal politics haunt chiefs?

Almost two years ago, most people used to admire the way Chiefs was run and how their supporters filled stadiums in large numbers. Credit was given to the committee led by chairman Ernest Molome for the success.

In the end, Chiefs made history by winning the Coca-Coca Cup and the league title for the first time in 2008. It was a fabulous season for Chiefs. The club remained unbeaten in 35 games - a record which will take sometime for any club to break.

Most people expected the Kgatleng outfit to build on the 2008 success but last year when they surrendered the title to Gaborone United (GU), reports started emerging that all was not well in the Magosi camp. Some committee members were accused of misusing funds. It was a below par performance as Chiefs ended the season trophyless with the only notable achievement being runners-up in the league.
