Good year for Boteti regional chairperson

PALAPYE: Boteti Regional Football Association chairperson, Phillimon Bunu takes the crown as the football administrator of the year. This is after he brokered two rare sponsorship deals worth over a million for football at the lower echelons of regional football leagues.

Notably, Bunu pulled off a three-seasons sponsorship for the women football league in the region worth P735,000. The main sponsors Orapa, Letlhakane and Damtshaa Mines forked out P600,000 and co-sponsor Kanu Equipment complemented with P135,000. Five women teams compete in the Boteti league.

The regional administrator set the bar too high for his 16 other regional compatriots with another historic P500,000 Division One sponsorship from Lucara Botswana. The achievements came as a result of persistence from the longest-serving chairperson who held his position for a decade.
