Golf members threaten to kick out president

Botswana Golf Union (BGU) president, Enoch Mushango has hit back after some members of the Gaborone Golf Club (GCC) threatened to kick him out for failure to pay annual subscription.

GCC captain, Martin Mogomela said they had written a letter to Mushango reminding him to pay his subscription but he did not bother to pay. He said they could not go further and try to force his hand to pay. Mogomela said paying subscription fees is an individual’s decision and GCC members are aware that the membership period starts from July ending in June the following year.

“We always give extensions like we did in this case, but unfortunately Mushango and other members decided not to subscribe. To us, it was an indication that they were not interested to continue as our members. We could not force them to subscribe,” Mogomela said.
