The team finished second after South Africa with four points and were eliminated from the competition as Zimbabwe finished as the best runner-up with five points, just a point ahead of the local girls.
The team left for Bulawayo looking to end a 12-years winless streak. However, they started the tournament on a bad note as they were hammered 4-0 by Namibia. The She Zebras finally got their maiden COSAFA victory with 3-0 win over minnows Lesotho thanks to a solitary strike by Boitumelo Gammu and a brace from the team’s skipper, Bonang Otlhagile.
