First division sponsorship launch postponed again

After several postponements, the First Division sponsorship launch has been shifted again.

A recent announcement by the Botswana Football Association (BFA) indicated that the sponsorship would be launched on March 19. The date has passed and it has now emerged the event will be on April 9. The sponsorship was reportedly secured last year from diamond giant, Debswana and was initially supposed to be launched at the beginning of the season.

Details of the breakdown of the sponsorship are yet to be revealed. Recently eight clubs in the First Division South threatened to boycott league games unless a clear explanation is given about the sponsorship. However, things calmed down after the intervention of BFA president Tebogo Sebego, the league secretary, Sidney Magagane has said. "The president addressed us recently and assured us that Debswana was still on board and from that, we are confident that before the end of the season, it would be launched," Magagane told Mmegi Sport
So far, details of the sponsorship still remains a secret. Magagane said these can only be revealed during the launch.
