Battle lines have been drawn between the Botswana National Sport Commission and the Botswana Amateur Fencing Society (BAFS) after some fencing clubs decided to pass a vote of no confidence on the executive committee which came into office on April 1.

Robust, Sir Seretse Khama, Metsimasweu, Boipelego Junior Secondary Schools and North Rise fencing clubs agreed to remove the executive from office. The matter has now reached the BAFS and BNSC legal teams. The Commission threw the first jab, stating in a letter that it will only entertain communication from BAFS and not individuals with seemingly ultra motives.

“This serves to request you to refrain from insinuating unconfirmed statements about the current BAFS executive committee,” reads part of the letter from the BNSC.
