Rampant: Francistown City Greens romped to a 5- 1 victory over Motlakase Power Dynamos

PALAPYE: Francistown City Greens closed the first round of the Debswana First Division North (FDN) league with a 5-1 destruction of Motlakase Power Dynamos in Francistown.

Motlakase finish the first round three points behind leaders, BR Highlanders. The City Greens rout was Motlakase’s second consecutive defeat that blew their chances of climbing to the top. They lost by a solitary goal to Mahalapye United Hotspurs a fortnight ago.

City Greens who have been on their worst run, remain in the red zone but climbed one position above Real Movers to number 10. Their goals came from Editor Otlaadisa’s brace and a goal each from Onkemetse Powe, Godfrey Seabelo and Griller Senzeni. Mamoja’s coach, Atshele Molapi said the three points are important but it is unfortunate they came to the party right at the end of the first round. He said the momentum has been building but fears the festive season will knock them back to square one. He said their other worry as a financially unstable side, is the transfer window.
