Crowd trouble mar GU-Gunners clash

Several supporters of Gaborone United (GU) were seriously injured following a clash with Extension Gunners fans during the Premier League match between the two giants on Saturday. The second half of what was billed the biggest match of the weekend was marred by crowd trouble in the eastern stands of the New Lobatse Stadium when GU scored the first goal in the 54th minute.

Supporters of the two teams fought with the GU brigade suffering serious injuries from the onslaught from Gunners fans.

Referee, Tirelo Mositwane was forced to stop the game for about 15 minutes as GU supporters ran away from the eastern stands. They moved to the grand stand with some of them getting treatment for injuries by the medical teams, while others were rushed to hospital. The incident marred what was relatively an exciting match.
