Coach fumes at referees

FRANCISTOWN: Coach Kenneth Mogae left the Francistown stadium fuming at referees on Sunday for failure to stop the game between his side Boteti Young Fighters and TAFIC because of heavy rain. Boteti lost the duel 1-0.

After the game, Mogae confronted the match officials who included assistant secretary of referees commission Jelas Masole demanding to know why the game was not stopped because the pitch was waterlogged. Later Boteti officials convened an emergency meeting to ponder over filing a protest.

The meeting decided to let the matter rest. Before the heavens opened, Boteti were pressing forward for an equaliser and looked capable of getting a goal but the soggy pitch affected their game. Mogae said the pitch was very bad for his players. "This is bad. The referee (Meshack Medupe) could have stopped the game immediately the rain started," said an angry Mogae.
