Charlie formation are BDF champs

Molepolole: Charlie Formation emerged the champions of the 2012 Botswana Defence Force (BDF) inter formations competitions with a nine-medal haul from various track and field events held on Friday at Molepolole.

The formation won five gold, silver and a bronze to be crowned the champions of the tough competition that featured both male and female soldiers. Second was Delta formation with three gold, two silvers and a bronze while X-Ray formation finished third with two gold, two silvers and a bronze. There was also a separate tug-of-war event that was won by X-Ray formation followed by Bravo Formation.

In the sprint events, Corporal Magaga of 2nd Brigade was crowned champion in the 100m with Lance Corporal Mmape and Lance Corporal Madongo from 1st and 2nd Brigade coming second and third respectively. Lieutenant Mfazo won the women's 200m while Corporal Magaga won his second gold in the same event.
