Chaos as Zebras forced to leave late for SA

There was a familiar problem in the Zebras camp yesterday as players downed tools over unpaid allowances and saw the team leave very late last night for South Africa.

The Zebras are due to play Zambia in the COSAFA Cup quarterfinal on Saturday. Reports last night were that the Botswana Football Association (BFA) was involved in frantic efforts to get the team to travel after players demanded outstanding allowances.

The team bus eventually left for Rustenburg just after 9pm. Efforts to get a comment from the BFA chief executive officer, Ookeditse Malesu were futile as he was involved in meetings to resolve the impasse.
