Boxers produce thrilling night of knockouts

FRANCISTOWN: Local boxers lit up a dull weekend for the city as they dished out exciting knockdowns at the interclub boxing competitions held at BDF Donga hall over the weekend.

Six out of nearly 20 fights on Saturday produced technical knockouts. The upset of the day was when Oarabile Mothibedi of DTCB club had the better of renowned Otukile Mohammed, knocking him out in the first round of their 52kg fight.

Mohammed of BMC won a gold medal at last year’s All Africa Youth Games. Another boxer who impressed on Saturday was Francistown’s Boifang Kenaope in the 64kg category.
