Botswana hosts four-nations girls� cricket tournament

Three nations, Mozambique, Namibia and Zimbabwe join hosts Botswana for the girls’ Under-19 40 over tournament, which starts today in Gaborone.

The competition is taking place at the Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) Oval. It bowls-off at 9:30am with two matches - between Botswana and Mozambique in Oval A and Zimbabwe and Namibia in Oval B.  BCA chief executive officer, Girish Ramakrishana told Mmegi Sport the tournament would help Botswana to gauge its strength.

“There are a lot of tournaments these girls have to compete in. It is important for us to get them tournaments like this one, so they could gauge their readiness for bigger competitions,” said Ramakrishna. He added that all the participating countries are strong as they have been playing cricket for sometime now.
