Botswana dumped out of COSAFA Cup

The women's national football team tumbled out of the on-going COSAFA tournament after suffering two heavy defeats to Tanzania and South Africa.

The team was thrashed 3-1 on Saturday by Tanzania before a 4-0 humiliation by South Africa's Banyana Banyana the following day. After the two losses, the final game against Zambia today will not make a difference in the group as South Africa and Tanzania have already made it to the semis.

Tanzania was the first to advance in Group B after beating Zambia 2-0 on Sunday. Banyana Banyana lead Group B on goal difference after amassing with six points like Tanzania. The two countries will meet on Thursday to determine the winner of the group, while Botswana and Zambia will make an early trip back home despite promising so much before the tournament. South Africa looks set to retain the title.
