Botswana boys reach 400m final in regional meet

The athletics programme kicked off yesterday at the African Union Sports Council Region Five Under-20 Youth Games after several delays at White City Stadium in Bulawayo. Botswana representatives in the 400 metres made a good start, posting wins in three heats and qualifying for the final scheduled for today.

Lueng Scotch, Wamano Keet and Karabo Sibanda all emerged triumphant in the semis to romp to the final. Sibanda expressed confidence ahead of the final saying that they are expecting a podium finish.

He was however, wary of a threat posed by South African opponents but added that they are ready for the challenge.
