BOMAID to continue sponsoring bowls

The Botswana Medical Aid Society (BOMAID) has agreed to extend its sponsorship of the national bowls championship. The Botswana Bowling Association (BBA) spokesperson, John Gaborutwe said BOMAID made the commitment at the just ended national bowls championships in Gaborone.

The week-long tournament ended on Saturday. The championship was the fourth under BOMAID sponsorship. The company forked out P20,000 for the 2014 edition.

In the women’s singles, Pauline Lekone of Gaborone Club defeated Binkie Gaborutwe of Phikwe Club by 21-9 shots. Lekone is a two-time Botswana Masters Ladies singles champion. Timothy Morton of Gaborone defended the male singles title after beating Andre van der Walt of Francistown 21-13.
