BNSC affiliates: Some are beggars on a beach of gold

Sporting disciplines across the country have consistently found blame in the bane that is poor financing for their failure to reach dizzy heights, however, as Staff Writer, FREDERICK KEBADIRETSE discovers some affiliates return to treasury a large chunk in unused grants

* Hockey uses paltry P1, 990 from P200, 000

Botswana Hockey Federation (BHF)
The federation was allocated P200, 000 in 2012 and used a mere P1, 990, meaning they had to return over P198, 000 in unused funds. Nothing has been really coming from hockey in recent years with the league running intermittently and in disarray. There are no active national teams and the executive committee is also reportedly dysfunctional. The BNSC have however allocated them P100, 000 for the 2013 budget.
