The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is battling to pay its employees’ salaries as the soccer body moves ahead with a restructuring exercise, likely to result in job losses.

The future of some of the 32 employees hangs in the balance, and BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo admitted they are struggling.

“We are struggling to pay salaries,” Mfolo said yesterday. The dire financial situation at the association, which was said to be P6 million in the red in 2016, has forced the BFA to implement a restructuring exercise.
