Botswana Football Association (BFA) has paid the Botswana National Sport Commission (BNSC) P65,000 that was owed in stadium fees.
The BNSC had threatened to bar the Zebras from playing at the Francistown Sports Complex until the debt was cleared. The BNSC collects 25% of gate takings during matches under the BFA.
The soccer body had delayed paying the BFA for the Under-23 match against Malawi, the Seychelles and Angola games.BFA chief executive officer, Mfolo Mfolo confirmed they have settled the debt.
“It is an administrative issue that could not have happened,” he said.
“The BNSC should be paid 48 hours after the match because we use Computicket to sell our tickets and we know immediately how much has been made from the gate takings.”
He said the P65, 000 is equivalent to 25% of all the three matches.
Mfolo said the finance department should not drag its feet on the issues, pointing out that he had advised them to put their house in order.
