BFA pushes for Premier League reduction

The Botswana Football Association (BFA) is keen to see the number of Premier League teams reduced in an effort to address persistent financial challenges, which have plagued the local game.

Mmegi Sport has learnt that the intention is to cut teams to 12, in an effort to ensure a healthier distribution of financial resources.

The 16-team assembly is seen as bloated for a country with a population of two million, while across the border, a more resourced Absa Premiership has a similar number of teams. South Africa’s population is nearly 60 million.

The Projects Magazine today launched The Future of Mining Summit, set to become the country’s premier mining conference. The event is scheduled for 12th and 13th of June 2024, at Boipuso Hall, Fairgrounds in Gaborone.
