BDF women crowned basketball champs

Despite losing 42-45 after overtime to Police V, BDF V women are the champions of the Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) 2011 Women's league, after defending champions Police V failed to get the 20-point difference they needed to retain the title.

Both teams had to play the decider since BDF V had benefited from free 20 points in the first round against the defending champions, who had failed to pitch up for the game. However, BDF V had a good season and have only lost one game.

A last minute basket from Police V's Endie Banyaditse- arguably the toughest encounter of the 2011 women's season was however, not enough to see Police defend their title.
