BCA takescricket to Moshupa schools

Moshupa is the latest region to benefit from the Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) development programme as more than 16 teachers from different government primary schools will undergo an elementary training course from the national team coach, Arjun Menon, today and tomorrow.

The course will take place at Mosielele Primary School and other primary schools expected to participate include Kgabophoti, Kgabosetso, Masielele and Kebonyekgotla. The BCA development programme has so far been introduced in regions such as Gaborone, Francistown, Maun, Selebi-Phikwe, Mmadinare, Ramotswa, Ghanzi and Mochudi.

Speaking to Monitor Sport, BCA chief executive officer (CEO) Girish Ramakrishna said that more than 16 teachers are expected to participate in the two-day course. He said the teachers would be taken through the basics of cricket. Ramakrishna said that after that teachers would be expected to disseminate knowledge to their pupils and form teams.
