BCA donates cricket equipment for grassroots development

FRANCISTOWN: The Botswana Cricket Association (BCA) donated cricket equipment worth P66,000 to 19 government primary schools in Francistown on Wednesday.

All the schools received bats, pads, protective helmets, batting gloves, wicket keeping gloves, box, thigh pads and cricket balls. The equipment cost P3,500 for each school.

BCA northern coordinator, Clement Chipanga, said since the introduction of the youth development programme, the sport has realised growth. "We want to see the sport becoming popular in Botswana like in the Asian countries where there is passion for the sport," Chipanga said.
