BBA braves through fixture disruption

The Botswana Basketball Association (BBA) public relations officer, Thulaganyo Jankey has said they do not regret the events that led to the postponement of two league matches last weekend.

The matches were not played because BBA staged BOTESSA games at the venue - the University of Botswana (UB) courts. "We made this move in order to promote basketball as a unit even though we knew it could negatively impact on the league," Jankey said.He stated that the pending league games will be played this weekend.

The matches involve NIIT, Cadets and Eagles, which failed to honour league fixtures because of the BOTESSA games. The NIIT team was participating in the BOTESSA games while the duel between Eagles and Cadets failed to take-off because the BOTESSA competition finished late, meaning that the UB courts were not available for the league matches.
