The third round of the rugby B-Division tournament took place at the Hogs Club in Gaborone on Saturday with 13 sides in action.

The rugby festival is used by the Botswana Rugby Union (BRU) to scout talent for the national team. Speaking on the sidelines of the tournament, Shawn Lees who coaches the BRU development side and national womens team, said the level of B-Division rugby in the country has improved tremendously. The tournament featured eight male and five female teams from across the country. They competed in a round robin format to accumulate points to secure places in the finals to take place in the fifth round in Francistown. The tournament was used to select 24 players for the womens national team. The players are expected to go to camp this week for the national Sevens training sessions. Eventually the squad will be reduced to 12.

Lees said although the women's teams did not perform to expected standards, he noticed a lot of improvement.
