Molope wins Toyota Corolla Sedan in OLDM charity raffle

FRANCISTOWN:A lucky Motswana man , Erick Molope, has won a preloved Toyota Corolla sedan in the Debswana Orapa, Letlhakane, and Damtshaa Mines (OLDM) Annual General Manager's Charity Walk Car Raffle.

The OLDM GM’s walk was on August 23 in Orapa, aimed to raise funds to address water challenges in the Boteti region, supporting Debswana OLDM's Corporate Social Investment (CSI) efforts.

The charity walk, which included a gala dinner, cooldown festival,kiddies walk and main walk drew significant participation from the community. To boost ticket sales, organisers introduced an affordable raffle ticket option of P30, giving participants a chance to win the Toyota Corolla sedan.

Molope's winning ticket took home the grand prize while Botshelo Mogotsi secured second place with P7,000 and Boemo Magang took third place with P3,000.


OLDM General Manager, Mogakolodi Maoketsa, expressed gratitude to participants, noting the funds raised will improve access to water for households and businesses, aligning with Debswana's "Making Life Brilliant" vision.

"The funds raised will bring everlasting impact by improving access to water for household and business use, embodying the Debswana vision of Making Life Brilliant," Maoketsa said.

The event was a huge success, and the winners were thrilled with their prizes. Molope could not hide his excitement, saying he's ecstatic about winning the Toyota Corolla sedan.

The OLDM team and Debswana commend the community for their support and generosity, contributing to the success of this charity event.

The funds raised will go a long way in making a difference in the lives of people in the Boteti region, providing them with access to clean water and a better quality of life.
