BMD sets the record straight

An article in the front page of the Sunday Standard of May 30 to 5 June headed "Motswaledi formally takes over BMD top position" announces that Mr Gomolemo Motswaledi is the leader of the Botswana Movement for Democracy.

It makes a few other incorrect statements, all of which need a response to avoid giving the wrong impression to members of the Movement, and to the nation.

* The leader of the BMD is the President of the Movement, who is an elected official. He or she is elected by the Congress of the Party.
