Weak JCE results were expected � BOSETU

As the country comes to terms with the drop of the Junior Certificate examinations (JCE), from the previous year, BOSETU contends that the drop was unfortunate but it was expected. It was expected, in our view, owing to the lackluster attitude of government in dealing with policy and welfare issues besieging the Ministry. Below, as a union we chronicle what we consider to be pointers that lead to final examination results ever dwindling.

The Automatic promotion & the two – tier education system  The view of the union is that while it is important to have universal access to education, it should also be coupled with quality assurance; it should not only be universal access for the sake of quantity.
