This communiqué serves to formally inform you that the BCPYL Executive Committee in its meeting held on Monday 20th February 2017 has unanimously decided to expel comrade Lily Tsele from her position in the Botswana Congress Party Central Committee as the Secretary for Women’s Affairs. The expulsion was with immediate effect (as from 20/02/2017).

The decision to expel Cde Lily Tsele was informed by the numerous contraventions against the very same Youth League she was serving in, and by extension, the BCP itself ever since she got voted into her position at the Francistown Youth League Congress in 2014.

The BCP Youth League Executive Committee, as custodians of the day-to-day affairs have therefore decided to exercise the powers bestowed upon the Committee by Sections15.1 and Sections32.1 of the BCP Youth League Constitution to relieve her of her duties as the Secretary for Women’s Affairs. We wish Cde Tsele the best of luck in her future endeavours.
