When the BCL mines closed in 2016, the community felt the loss of employment and opportunity. Today, we are proud to have re-established a local workforce of over 300 employees. Looking ahead, a mine restart positions us to scale responsibly, with opportunities to grow the workforce in line with project needs and regional development.

International resource companies operating in foreign jurisdictions often struggle to fill senior technical and management positions from the in-country talent pool. This is not the case in Botswana.

According to data published by UNESCO, the literacy rate in Botswana is 88%, compared to 86% in the US and 35% in Burkina Faso.
