Thamaga man charged with unlawful wounding

The charge comes after the accused allegedly hit his 23-year-old girlfriend on the head with a quart bottle following a quarrel. According to police, the incident occurred around 3am on Saturday after the couple left an entertainment spot. Thamaga Police Station acting commander, Assistant Superintendent Maimane Phele, said the woman sustained a deep cut on her head.

“She was taken to Thamaga Primary Hospital, where she was treated and released,” he added when confirming the incident. “Investigations are ongoing to establish what their fight was all about.” Phele appealed to couples to refrain from resorting to violence whenever they have disagreements, urging them to resolve their differences peacefully. He emphasised the importance of handling relationship conflicts without physical confrontation.
