Zim man arrested for killing ex-lover

A Zimbabwean man accused of fatally stabbing his ex-lover with a sharp object has been arrested. The police said the incident occurred yesterday morning at Mafatshwa Ward, Tlokweng, at the deceased’s rented house.

The 25-year-old man allegedly pounced on the deceased, a fight ensued and he ended up stabbing her with a sharp object.

According to Officer Commanding, District No.3 Senior Superintendent Theriso Thatayotlhe, the suspect found the deceased with her sister who alerted the neighbours about the duo's fight. “She had gone out to seek help from their neighbours but on return she found her sister lying lifeless in a pool of blood.

The 22-year-old Zimbabwean woman was rushed to Mafitlhakgosi clinic where she was certified dead upon arrival,” he said.


He stated that after committing the offence the suspect fled the crime scene and was later arrested by the police with serious wounds and he is currently recuperating at Princess Marina Hospital.

Asked if the suspect was trying to commit suicide, Thatayotlhe said investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired.
