Yet another accident at BCL

The incident is the latest in a string of accidents at the mine, which include the May 29 disaster in which four miners fell to their deaths after a rope holding their cage snapped. On June 20, a miner was injured after being hit by a rock from blasting operations, about 850 metres below the surface.
In the latest incident, a cage transporting two employees that was supposed to stop at the 340-metre level, “over-travelled” to 367 metres below the surface. BCL Mine’s marketing and public relations manager, James Molosankwe, said the two workers were not injured as safety protocols kicked in to halt the cage.
