Women in news programme hailed

The managing editor of the Botswana Guardian and Midweek Sun newspapers, Mike Mothibi, has commended the World Association of Newspapers and News Publishers (WAN-IFRA) for establishing a programme called Women In News (WIN).

This programme will develop leadership among women in the African media. He said it equips women with sustainable strategies, skills and support networks to advance careers and contribute to the growth of local media enterprises.

He said this is a long-term opportunity that would go a long way in shaping women in the media's careers because of its international coaching aspect.
