Woman in court for strangling baby

FRANCISTOWN: A 19-year old woman from Zoroga village in the Central District appeared before Chief Magistrate Peggy Madandume on Monday on one charge of murder.

The state alleges that Moeti Letsopa killed her five-month-old daughter on December 18 last year in the bush on the outskirts of Zoroga.

Letsopa allegedly took the child to the bush and strangled her. According to prosecutor Thulaganyo Pitso, Letsopa told the police that she killed the baby because it was stressing her.
