Gaborone West police are investigating a case in which a 34-year-old woman was attacked and raped on Sunday morning when she was on her way to attend a funeral in Phase 2, Gaborone.

The victim, who was walking alone around 6am to the burial, met an unknown man on the way. The man who attacked and dragged her to a nearby bush and subsequently raped her, stole her mobile phone, and then fled the crime scene.

On the matter, No.13 District Officer Commanding, Senior Superintendent Mmoloke Sebako said they have launched investigations to locate and arrest the suspect who is still at large.
