If the Bakgatla leaders had their way, charges against them would be dropped and discussion between them and government ensue, with a view to coming to a consensus about floggings in Kgatleng.

Mmusi Kgafela, and second in line to the Bakgatla bogosi, made the revelation last Sunday, at a meeting called by his brother and Paramount Chief of the Bakgatla, to brief the tribe on their remand.

Governmnet's decision, through the Directorate of Public Prosecutions (DPP), to charge Bakgatla Kgosi, his brother Mmusi, deputy chief Bana Sekai and 11 mephato members is disappointing.
