VP recommends psychiatric attention for Modubule

Vice President Mompati Merafhe has said that anyone who suggests that President Ian Khama, Sir Seretse Khama's son, could remotely be an alien of Botswana should seek psychiatric attention. Sir Seretse is the founding father of the Republic of Botswana.

"These people have to be taken to the mental hospital so that they can get checked in order for us to know what kind of people we are dealing with," he said.  Merafhe was responding to President Khama's state of the nation address and issues raised by opposition members of parliament (MPs) during parliamentary question time.

Khama's citizenship came into question recently when it was reported that the Department of Immigration and Citizenship refused to grant some Batswana e-passports on grounds that they held dual citizenships.
