VP donates Huawei tablets in Moshupa

MOSHUPA: Vice President Mokgweetsi Masisi handed out 30 Huawei tablets to Moshupa Senior Secondary School teachers and students during a donation ceremony held at the school last Thursday.

The tablets are to help the teachers and students with their daily learning activities. Huawei, a leading global ICT solutions provider and major industry player in Botswana, provided the tablets. The donation ceremony formed part of, and was a build-up event to the WTISD (World Telecommunication and Information Society Day) 2016  Commemorations in Botswana which were scheduled for June 17 in Thamaga.

At the ceremony, Masisi acknowledged the importance of the tablets donated by Huawei, noting that the company is making its own contribution to the development of education in Botswana.  He mentioned that ICT has become an important enabler for the development of industries including agriculture, tourism and mining. He wished that the WTISD will bring positive social impact as needed and open up new windows for businesses at home. He said that the tablets donated would help more teachers and students to be exposed to ICT, acquire knowledge online and help them become innovative.
