Leader of the Opposition in Parliament Dumelang Saleshando has called on government to offer tax relief for parents who pay for their children to be educated in private schools. Saleshando said that it is clear a lot of parents opt for their children to attend private institutions because of the ‘near-collapse’ of the learning system in public schools.


He said that the demoraliing results coming from all levels of the public school system leave parents with no option but to "flee to private institutions"whose students fare much better.
