US boosts MMEWR

The United States Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) yesterday awarded a grant to the Ministry of Minerals, Energy and Water Resources intended to enhance the ministry’s procurement processes.

A statement from the Embassy says under the grant, two senior advisors from the US will be seconded to the ministry to optimise best value practices in water and energy procurements. The grant follows similar assistance rendered to government in March when 37 officials from the PPADB and nine ministries, including MMEWR, received procurement training at George Washington University Law School.

This spring, the USTDA will host follow-on procurement training for a group of senior Botswana procurement officials during an orientation visit to the United States.
