Uncle arrested for minor niece's alleged rape

Machaneng Police Station commander, Superintendent Gagopale Gaselarona said the matter was reported last week Monday though it allegedly occurred on May 2. “The victim’s parents noticed the little girl was not herself as she appeared troubled. [They] interrogated her until she disclosed that she had been recently sexually assaulted by her uncle and reported the matter to the police. Investigations into the matter are ongoing and we have since arrested the suspect who has been charged with rape,” he said. Gaselarona added the suspect was recently arraigned before the Mahalapye Magistrate’s Court and will appear again for mention on May 20.
