UB Hit By Unprecedented Litigations

Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Dr Unity Dow, said in Parliament last week that there have been 10 Industrial Court cases and seven High Court cases submitted by employees of UB against the institution since 2011.
“Mr Speaker, progress to date with the 10 cases submitted to the Industrial Court is that two of the cases have been dismissed, two have been withdrawn, one was ruled in favour of the university, while five of the cases are still pending,” said Dow. She also gave the various reasons the University had been taken to the Industrial Court by disgruntled UB employees.
