Two people, a man and a woman died in a car accident this morning after their Madza CX 5 collided with a public transport bus.

Deputy Divisional traffic officer for South Central, Senior Superintendent, Boiki Mojalemotho, told MmegiOnline that the accident occurred around 08:50am by Mmamashia Junction.

"We do not have full details at the moment, but appears that the Madza CX 5 was either trying to join A1 road or it was turning when the Francistown bound bus was already near resulting in a collision. Madza CX 5 occupants both died on the spot. However, all occupants in a public transport bus, 60 in number escaped the accident uninjured, " he said.

Mojalemotho said investigations into the matter are ongoing to establish what really transpired, who the deceased are and their age.
